Campaigns

Over the course of this academic year, we have campaigned at two levels, considering both local and global impact that we can have.

Autumn 2024 - Food Waste Campaign!

Article 24 - the right to nutritious food and a clean and healthy environment

Our ambassadors met in October to discuss areas of the school they thought needed a bit of an improvement. After taking the suggestions to Miss Fermor, the decision was made to assess and manage food waste in the school. Nourish, our food providers, gave an assembly to launch the campaign, and each day our ambassadors measured the levels of food waste. The aim was to see a raised awareness as well as a reduction in food waste!

Results: We were surprised to find out that Fish Finger Friday was the biggest creator of food waste. After surveying the school, we found that this was down to more children having school dinners as a treat for a Friday. Therefore, we are further encouraging children to eat what they have on their plate and not create unnecessary waste.

Spring 2025 - Sustainability Campaign!

Article 24 - the right to a clean and healthy environment
Article 30 - the right to an education that teaches respect for the environment

This term, we have completed a campaign that looked at a global cause - sustainability and the environment. Across the four schools in the Trust, we have looked at areas within each school that can be improved to contribute to its overall sustainability. Children created a variety of outcomes, including writing letters, creating signs and posters, fostering change within the school.

Class 3 asked for donations of house plants to keep the air clean in the classroom!
